History

Conrad's has had a very long history in the greater pascack valley. Beginning in 1928 when Fred Conrad came over from South Africa as a young man.

He worked very hard to build a succesful Candy and Ice Cream business, studying the art of candy making in New York City.

In the 1930's Fred hired a young man by the name of Jim Pouletsos. Jim proved an eager worker and after serving over 4 years in Europe during WWII returned home and purchased the business when Fred was ready to retire. Jim and wife Irene ran the store all the way into the 80's. The store remains in Jim's family to this day.
